Student Exchange Success

A recent student exchange program between Kuki City, Japan, and Roseburg, Oregon, was a resounding success, with students from both cities making new friends and experiencing different cultures.

The program, which ran for ten days, saw 14 students from Kuki City visit Roseburg. During their stay, the students participated in a variety of local events, including a camping trip to the Oregon coast and a visit to the Roseburg Public service providers downtown (including the Library, Police Department, Fire Station, and City Hall). They also spent time with their American host families, learning about their daily lives and customs.

The students from Kuki City were particularly impressed by the Roseburg community's sense of hospitality. "Everyone was so welcoming and friendly," said one student.

In addition to the local events, the students from Kuki City also had the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the Oregon coast. They hiked in the Umpqua National Forest, visited the Crater Lake, and even went on a thrilling Jet Boat ride!

The student exchange program was a valuable experience for all involved. The students from Kuki City learned about American culture and made new friends, while the students from Roseburg gained a deeper appreciation for Japanese culture. The program also helped to strengthen the bond between the two cities.
