FRIENDSHIP GARDEN
RSC Friendship Garden
It all started…
in 1994 in discussions with the county commissioners when the first blocks of the library foundation were being put into place. The Garden was dedicated in 1996 with a visitation of the Japanese delegation.
Tucked between the subtle charms of Deer Creek and the Roseburg Public Library, the Garden is a Japanese inspired garden. The niches blend native plants from Oregon and Japan, as well as monolithic stones selected from various locations throughout Douglas County.
Today the Garden is maintained through an agreement between RSC and the City of Roseburg.
